Leon County Jail

Good Behavior

Interview with Alex and Javier

JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
Alex: No
Javier: No. The county gives you 5 days off a month and if you become a trustee you receive and additional 5 days off a month.

JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
Alex: I do not believe that the Leon County Jail will let anyone off for good behavior.
Javier: They do not give time off for good behavior. You can receive 5 days off a month for working as a trustee.

JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off?
Alex: I'm sure if I could have gotten time off, I would have had to been an extremely nice and friendly person who never got into trouble while in jail.
Javier: DO NOT GET INTO A FIGHT! If you must fight find somewhere where you can settle it without an officer seeing it. If you are seen they will put you in confinement and may give you a new charge. Also, do not get caught with any contraband. Bringing something into the facility that is not supposed to be in there can give you up to 5 years.
